Indications

^^ It is used in camels, cows, horses, sheep, goats, dogs and cats in the following cases:
– Cases of mild or moderate metabolic acidosis (except lactic acidosis).
– As a means of administering compatible medications.
– Rehydrate animals suffering from severe diarrhea of ​​any kind.
– In hydration and electrolyte support for animals under anesthesia.
– In correcting acidic changes in the body’s pH.
– In treating colic in horses.
– In reproductive procedures such as washing fetuses.
– Hydrocephalus (fluid in the pericardium) 

Usage and Dosage

^^ It is given intravenously only
In general, the recommended dose for treatment: 50-70 ml per kg of body weight per day
The infusion rate should be reduced if heart and lung disease are present.
The maximum recommended infusion rate is 7 mL/kg/hour 
Or according to the opinion of the treating veterinarian 

Contraindications

^^ It should be used with caution in cases of excess sodium, potassium, calcium and lactic acid in the blood.
In the event of cardiac, renal, or hepatic edema.
In case of prolonged treatment with corticosteroids.
In case of renal failure 
Liver failure or cirrhosis 

Warnings

^^ Intravenous administration must be done slowly and performed under strict aseptic conditions.
The solution should be warmed to body temperature before giving.
Excessive sodium intake may occur in animals with weak heart or kidneys and it should be noted that sodium excretion may be impaired after surgery/trauma.
