Mode of action or general info:
Dipyrone is a fast-acting type of NSAID that relieves pain and reduces fever. It inhibits prostaglandin synthesis via cyclooxygenase and has antispasmodic properties. Dipyrone is quickly absorbed after intramuscular injection, reaches peak concentration within 1-2 hours, and is mainly excreted in urine. Clinical effects are observed within 30 minutes.
Indications of Metalgen (Dipyrone injection veterinary):
It is an antipyretic and analgesic used in cases of colic, intestinal spasms, mastitis, acute and chronic arthritis, and neuritis.
Contraindications:
Do not use it in cases of pregnancy, symptoms of icterus, rash skin, liver, and renal diseases.
Side Effects:
Nervous disturbances, sensitivity reactions (derma, hepatic, renal) and disturbances in blood components (deficiency in leukocytes and plates).
Interactions:
Hematocytes must be monitored during the treatment, especially in the cases of anticoagulant communion.
Usage and dosage for Metalgen (Dipyrone injection veterinary):
for I.M and slowly I.V injection: Horses & cows: 30-40 ml Calves: 5-10 ml Sheep, goats: 2-8 ml Dogs: 1-3 ml (Twice a day for 3-4 days)
Withdrawal Period:
For milk 3 days -For meat 7 days
