Info

The effectiveness of gentamicin is primarily directed against aerobic Gram-negative bacteria and some aerobic Gram-positive bacteria. It is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. It is effective against most species of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas, Salmonella, Enterobacteriaceae, Serratia, Shigella, Mycoplasma, and many strains of Staphylococcus, but it is ineffective against MRSA.

Indications of Gentamycin Injection veterinary 10%

It treats the udder, uterus infection haemorrhages, lung infections, genital urine channels, the middle ear, urine channels and skin infections in different animals.

Interactions

Gentamycin Injection veterinary 10% should not be given with diuretics such as furosemide or other antibiotics, especially penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin, and it should not be mixed with any other antibiotic in the syringe

Usage and Dosage for Gentamycin Injection veterinary 10%

I. M. & sub. cut. injection:
Dogs and cats:	          0.05ml /kg  b. w. /daily.
Sheep,goats and calves:  2.5ml/50kg  b.w. /daily
Cows,camels and horses: 4ml/100kg b.w. /daily.

Contraindications

Gentamycin Injection veterinary 10% is contraindicated in animals with renal failure, hearing disorders, or hypersensitivity.

Side Effects

Increased dosage can cause neurological disorders and affect balance, while extended use may lead to kidney failure. Stick to the regular dosage to avoid any adverse effects.

Withdrawal Period

For meat 30 days –for milk  3 days
