Enrofloxacin is a synthetic substance derived from quinoline acid, specialized only for veterinary uses as an anti-bacterial and anti-infectious agent. This compound is characterized by rapid, quick absorption and high levels in serum. It is also an antibiotic for the treatment of all different bacterial diseases caused by gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms as well as Mycoplasma.

Indications of Enrosin 10% (Enrofloxacin injection veterinary)

Gastrointestinal infection in lambs, treatment and control of infections caused by Escherichia Coli and Clostridium in lamb, acute udder infection, gangrene udder infection. Infections caused by Salmonella and Mycoplasma. The pulmonary infections. Pasteurella disease in lambs, sheep, goats, cows and camels and dogs.

Interactions

It is preferably not to be given with Aluminum and Magnesium salts (Antacids), and not to be mixed with medical compounds that contain Chloride Ions for the avoidance of the precipitation problem. It is not given with Tetracycline compounds.

Usage and Dosage for Enrosin 10% (Enrofloxacin injection veterinary)

For intramuscular injection and subcutaneous injection:
Lambs:    0.5ml/10kg b.w. 
Sheep, goats, cows, and camels:      2ml/40kg b.w. 
Dogs:     0.5ml/10kg b.w.
(Every 24 hours for 3-4 days)

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the Quinoline group.
Do NOT prescribe to horses.

Side Effects

Allergic reactions may occur, and liver function may be affected if treatment continues for more than two weeks. Studies have also shown the possibility of urinary stone formation when taking excessive doses (3 - 4 times the normal dose).
