Indications
Oxytetracycline and Neomycin are broad-spectrum antibiotics, they are used to treat acute and chronic mastitis which are caused by gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria such as staphylococcus and streptococcus in cows, horses, camels, sheep & goats.
Usage and Dosage
The udder is washed with soap and water, dried, and completely milked then the whole injector is injected into the infected quarter.
Cows, horses & camels: one injector. Sheep & goats: 1/2 injector
The dose is repeated after 24 hours for 3 days.
Contraindications
It is not given in cases of allergy to tetracyclines and neomycin.
Withdrawal Period
Milk:3 days.
Meat: 7 days
